G. Chandra, MD, FACS
Dr. Chandra graduated from medical school in 1975. After being trained in general surgery at New Rochelle Hospital, NY, he went on to complete his orthopaedic surgery training at the Jewish Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, in December 1983.
Dr. Chandra has been practicing Orthopaedic Surgery in the Washington DC Metropolitan area since 1984, with special interest in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee, ankle, elbow, and wrist including major reconstructive surgery for all athletic injuries. He is skilled in cartilage replacement and transplant surgery and uses these methods when appropriate. Dr Chandra is ( 3 times) board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery, by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is one of the first few Orthopaedic Surgeons in the country to receive a subspecialty board certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic surgery in January 2008.
His goal is to provide state-of-the-art orthopaedic and sports medicine care for each and every patient. He educates all his patients of their condition and encourages them to participate in the decision making process. He is fully involved in rehabilitating his patients after surgery and directs his physiotherapy team in this process.

He frequently attends national and international meetings on topics pertinent to his practice in order to present cases and keep up with the latest developments. He has lectured on subjects related to knee and shoulder reconstruction and arthroscopic Surgery at National Seminars.
Dr. Chandra is an avid skier and a tennis enthusiast. Also, he holds a private pilot license with instrument rating, and enjoys flying as a recreation.

Lonnie D. Davis, MD
Lonnie D Davis, MD is an orthopaedic surgeon at Center for Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. Dr. Davis received his B.A. degree from Cornell University and his M.D. from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency training at Indiana University in Indianapolis. He then completed an intensive year-long fellowship in Sports Medicine before starting his practice at Center for Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.
Dr. Davis performs many general orthopaedic procedures but he has special interest in care of patients with active lifestyles. He is particularly skilled in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle. Restoration of normal function is achieved through both non-surgical and surgical treatment options. He strives to thoroughly educate patients with regards to their condition, treatment and goals.
Dr. Davis has authored several papers and book chapters on sports related injuries. He has also presented at local and national meetings. Dr. Davis is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a candidate member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
Dr. Davis has held a lifelong interest in sports. He was a standout student-athlete while playing high school football, track and field as well as basketball in Indiana. He went on to compete at the intercollegiate level at Cornell University. While at Cornell Dr. Davis was a wide receiver on the Big Red football team. He was a standout on the freshman team and went on to become a regular contributor for the varsity squad. Dr. Davis also participated in track and field while at Cornell. He competed in the long jump as well as the 100m and 400m sprints.
Dr. Davis continues to maintain an active lifestyle. His more recent notable accomplishments include completing the New York City marathon as well as the Indianapolis 500 half marathon.
Dr. Davis has participated in many charity events including a medical mission throughout India.
